Hotel Micuras

The ocean view of the Onsen is gorgeous as it is a open pool on the top of the building. There were not too many pools to choose and there was a bamboo hedge in front of the view when looking out to the sea. The thing that I noticed was that there was a mom bringing her about 7 yrs old son into the women’s onsen and it was quite awkward for other guests. I hope the hotel could work on it further.

The 5 stars on this hotel are the Staff, the Sea view room, the Location, the Onsen and the Service. The things I don't like is while booked the Sea view room, MUST include the breakfast and the dinner, either it is required by the hotel or by Agoda, total cost almost same with the room rate its self, 55,500 Y for 1 night, two people. The breakfast only a small American breakfast not a buffet, the dinner is French style not a buffet. Both is under my expectation. If I have a choice, I prefer not to get breakfast and dinner. Sorry.

There are 3 really great things about this hotel. The location is right by the water, the service is top notch, and they have great onsens. The men's onsen is on the top floor of the hotel and it's overlooking the ocean at night, honestly it's quite a view and experience, no pictures for obvious reasons. Unfortunately there is a glass screen covering it, I'm sure you can understand why, but it's still pretty great. My first onsen experience and I'm glad for it. My room wasn't the best but honestly it was super affordable and booked last minute.

I truly enjoyed my stay in Atami at this hotel. The location is amazing! And the view of the sea was so refreshing. Room was spacious, and came equipped with everything I needed. The only thing was, the aircon/heater is centrally controlled so it could get very hot and stuffy. You can also open the window slightly to let in winter breeze. I called Recep and they brought me a Dyson fan which helped! Food wise my booking didn’t come with meals, but I found you can just go to Atami Station or just walk further down the hotel there are restaurants and convenience stores. If you want dinner at the hotel, you must reserve in advance. I enquired upon check in and they were already full. Just something to note! I walked from Atami Station and found it a breeze because it was downhill and took around 15min. The next morning I walked up the hill and was panting quite a bit. Pro tip: just take the local bus. There’s a bus stop right outside the hotel facing the sea, and most buses there go to Atami Station. When I checked out and had a heavy backpack with me I took the bus and it was so easy. Onsen was nice, the outdoor one was slightly smaller than expected but still nice with a view. Could get crowded but nothing too uncomfortable. For a few hours in the afternoon there’s complimentary tea, coffee, soft drinks and snacks in the cafe area in the lobby. I sat there daily with a cup of hot choc. Perfect.
